While on a recent trip, we drove along the remote Little Calf Pasture Highway in Virginia. It was dark and hard to see much, but as I’m always looking for things to take photos of, I noticed this little ranch with the moon above it! This is a two-shot composite, one of the ranch, and one of the moon for exposure difference. A tripod was of course used.

Desolate Winter Landscape
It’s amazing how winter can sometimes make what would normally be a beautiful landscape look so desolate.
Sunset from Port Bay
Port Bay lies on the Southern shore of Lake Ontario, north of Wolcott NY; this can be a great place with easy access to view a nice Sunset on Lake Ontario. On the Northern rim of Port Bay, there is a public park and boat launch right on the shore. For good Sunset photos, be sure to incorporate foreground elements such as flowers into your composition.
Vietnam Memorial and Washington Monument
The National Mall in Washington DC is a place every American should visit at least once in their lifetime. My trip was at night, and first up are some images of the Washington Monument from different viewpoints.

Tranquil Bridge
Pixley Falls State Park is a tranquil, slice of heaven located a few miles Southwest of Boonville, NY. The trails through the park are calm, easy, and relaxing; containing lots of small streams, waterfalls, and boardwalks – just make sure to bring bug spray during the Summer.
